Overview
Lavastone carries lava stone products from two talented Sicilian makers - Pietracolata and Sansone. In addition to selling their works, they also provide design, consulting or complete realization.
How it all started
It began with a comprehensive session with the client, where I gathered insights into their expectations and needs. The goal was to blend clean elegance with the dynamic flow of volcanic lava, resulting in a unique and captivating brand aesthetic.
Branding
The branding for Lavastone began with designing shapes that imitate the fluid, dynamic movement of lava from a volcano through blur and gradient effects. This concept inspired the creation of an elegant logo, featuring four main characters rotated within a square shape. To complement the fluid shadows of lava, we selected a color palette that accompanies this theme. The final touch was the choice of a simple yet elegant sans-serif font family.
Web design
For the web design of Lavastone, we began with a quick low-fidelity wireframe to outline the basic structure. After receiving feedback from the client, we progressed to a high-fidelity wireframe and eventually the first draft of the entire website. Our primary focus was on creating a clean, readable, and easy-to-navigate design. Volcanic shapes were incorporated strategically, enhancing specific sections without overwhelming the overall aesthetic.
Use in practise
We extended Lavastone's visual identity elements across both print and digital materials, ensuring a consistent brand experience. This included designing price offers, business cards, social media posts, etc…
